FAQ

No referral is needed for an assessment appointment. If we see a presentation that calls for imaging or medication we direct you to the relevant doctor.

We listen to how the complaint began and how you load your body day to day; range of motion, muscle strength and balance are measured. We then set out session frequency and the length of the programme.

It varies with the presentation; most programmes run between 6 and 12 sessions. Longer programmes include an interim assessment after which the plan is retuned.

There can be short-lived tenderness. Our measure is not the session itself but how the pain behaves the next day; if it rises, we reduce the load.

The short programme you do at home is what makes the movement gained in the clinic last. We keep it to a length that fits your day and that you can realistically follow.

The starting point depends on the window your surgeon sets. Beginning early within that window makes regaining range of motion easier.
